Today, I received an e-mail from a woman inquiring about a boudoir photography session. She told me that she mentioned her interest in a boudoir session to her friends and that they had no clue what it was and why you would want to do one.

So, I figured I’d post up a quick little blurb about it all and include some photos of a past boudoir session to help me do some of the talking.

What is boudoir photography anyway?

Out of curiosity, I decided to Google it to find an online definition. A ‘boudoir’ is a lady’s private bedroom…*snicker*…so pair that up with a photographer taking photos of said lady in her bedroom and you’ve got boudoir photography?

Well, if you’ve seen my boudoir work, then you know that I don’t restrict these types of sessions merely to a bedroom. I’ve also shot these sessions in hotel rooms, open courtyards, studios, etc. If it’s a cool location and my client isn’t shy, I’ll basically shoot anywhere.

Why would I want to get boudoir photos of myself?

Really. I can’t stand the word ‘boudoir’. But anyway, women come to me for these types of sessions for all kinds of reasons. As a wedding gift for their husband-to-be. As a Christmas gift to their husband. To celebrate lost weight. To celebrate youth. To celebrate age. To showcase hot bodies before birthing children. To showcase hot bodies after birthing children.

Despite all these great reasons to have a boudoir session shot, I think simply celebrating being a beautiful woman is reason enough :)

So…some of you might remember the beautiful, Kim. Well, here are some more images from that session.
