Kristy and Andrew set to wed on January 2, 2010…my first wedding of the year…and it was one big awesome party!

The trust they placed in me just really filled my heart (I’m *big* on complete trust from my couples) and I wanted so much to create the romantic yet fun, classic yet funky photographs that I knew they wanted. I also have to admit that the added challenge of shooting everything basically in very low light…the b&g getting ready, the details, the ceremony, the family/bridal party portraits, the b&g portraits, basically the whole evening…was a great challenge for me. Really…Kristy and Andrew’s wedding was a fantastic way to start off my year :)

The evening was full of warmth and beauty and I smile just thinking back to it all. I feel so honoured and lucky to photograph people high on love and I feel especially thankful that Kristy and Andrew chose me to document their special day.

Okay…so this was a first for me. I’ve never photographed a bride, groom ice skating on their wedding day. Kristy and Andrew surprised their bridal party by making a pit stop at Robson Square skating rink. The rink was opened for the first time at the end of November after nearly 10 years of being out of commission!
